No, unfortunately dogs are not allowed in The Snug.
When you say that “Children are welcome so long as they are accompanied by a parent and are kept on a leash.” do you mean human children, or are the rumors I heard about the Snug being Portland’s only dog-friendly pub actually true?

I assume the bartender in question is Michelle. Here’s the thing…that’s just Michelle being Michelle. Trust me, there is no one she dry-humps more than my boyfriend, so I’m sure the scenario you describe is accurate. However, this is a performance Michelle puts on for EVERYONE…not just YOUR boyfriend. The following may sound Dear Abby-ish, but perhaps you should stop blaming Michelle for your insecurities and start being a more trusting partner. You could try participating in the pageantry. Michelle does not discriminate. The ladies of The Snug are just as enamored with her as the men. If this advice doesn’t help, then you could always come in on Mondays when Sully is working…although, he has been known to get a little frisky with the men too. I’m just saying.
The bar is lovely but I would appreciate it if the female bartender would stop hitting on my boyfriend while I’m sitting right next to him. It’s really obnoxious and it’s made me really uncomfortable everytime I do go in there.

As most of you know from reading my Snug bio, I am planning to kill Margaret in her sleep. Ironicly, she has confided in me her request for her funeral. I figured I would document it, as to not miss one itty-bitty request (aka DEMAND…you know her..) so here it is. Ri Ra will be the venue, considering there will be SO VERY MANY people there to mourn, we will need a space AT LEAST that large. People will most likely be spilling out onto the sidewalks. The dresscode shall be head-to-toe black for the women, scoring extra points if you wear a black veil to shade your puffy, bloodshot eyes. Men are to wear black as well, with an allowance given for the shirt under the suitcoat to be white. Her ashes will be there for all to gaze upon. Then a horse drawn carriage will arrive to bring the ashes to Secret Beach. We will all follow on foot, but this will be a long process. See, mourners will be throwing themselves under the carriage wheels and wailing, “NO! NO! DON’T TAKE HER!” (I am allowed to hire actors to do this, and she has suggested they be Asian…you ask her, I’m not gonna.) We arrive at the beach and people stand, not as couples, not grouped off…everyone standing by themselves. The ashes will be placed on a gas soaked raft, sent out to sea, and then archers will send arrows of fire to set it into flames.
You would think that she would come up with something more dramatic.
Why the hell has no one posted a comment since april? Is it because everyone been too busy drinking to be able to use a keyboard? Is it because the intrarnet is still so damned confusing?[ How do the computer cables not get all clogged up with words and pictures?] Is it fear of retaliation for saying something that may piss off Michelle? She does hold a black belt in Tae Kwan Gofukurself so the fear is justified. Or is just the overwhelming apathy and lack of purpose that has consumed so many of us recently…what? The session is over? That was an hour already? Ok,I’ll be back next week. Which door do i exit again?

As some of you may know, I have an occasional vertigo issue that rears its head whenever it damn well pleases. After an enjoyable noontime football watching date, my man and our way found our way to Silly’s for lunch, before my scheduled 5pm barshift at The Snug was to begin. Shortly after ordering, all those cute little pictures of people holding “Eat at Silly’s” bumperstickers where in a circle-twist, and in my world, this is when the ride called vertigo begins. A message was left for Margaret that things were not-so-hot, and we left. Vertigo makes you have motion sickness, and as much as I adore Silly’s, their bathroom floor is not where I want to rest my head. I got home, spent some quality time in the lav, and later found myself walking into The Snug for my shift. Margaret and Troy were all over the matter, and sent me on my way. THANK YOU BOTH. This is your very own Lucile 2 (Arrested Development) sending my employer a big shout out ( as the kids say)…You really are the greatest boss ever! Merci!

It looks as though I may have to come down there & check this place out. You’re having far too much fun without me and it’s been way too long. I need a getaway and i think you’re it! I’ll keep you posted on my plotting progress.
